Looks like 1.1 is now on the app store. At the moment I would recommend uninstalling any previous version before the upgrade, especially if you had problems scanning in 1.0.
Saying that, theres no reason why a straight update would cause problems if you have a full database on your device. This should hopefully fix problems a couple of people have had with large libraries and server authentication, as well as a few things people have requested over the last week.
