I don't know why your DAC doesn't recognize the signal, but you don't need to set the bitrate limiting option (you may set the "LAME quality level"). Resampling will be triggered automatically if your input sampling rate is higher than 48khz AND the destination player is NOT a transporter, i.e for all other players. Can you see if SC starts any processes?
