Hi Pippin, nice work on the app!! As you know i have been using ipeng web from the start almost, and also made my own modifications (some of them might be what i reefer to here). Anyway, have been playing around with the app the last hour or so and a few suggestions, issues so far (might be me not used with the interface but wanted to give my feedback anyways). possible it has been discussed already in the thread, haven't looked trough it all.
My usual way of adding music with the webinterface was either trough the trackstat app (easy way to get to the good music when you have 35000+ songs) or through browsing the new music or years. - Trackstat is not existing and it would be awesome to have that integrated in the app somehow. - Browsing my new music (set to 200 with 100 item limit per page) is still better on Safari and the reasons are: -- Even tough it takes a number of seconds longer to load i do have ALL albumarts loaded when scrolling up and down. With the app, i get the list fast but scrolling down is without artwork until i wait a second or so, then the visible albums get their artwork and continuing down the same procedure is repeated etc... This happens no matter how long i stay on the page or have the app running. Ofcourse when i have had the list populated once it seems faster the second time if i don't quit the ap between. However i don't have the app running all the time on my touch or iphone so i need the artwork to be there the first time around. Personally i would prefer having to wait a few seconds to have the page load but get all artworks in the list populated so i directly can scroll with everything in place. -- I only get max 75 items in teh new music list and cannot scroll further or change to a second side? #### --- Artwork are also smaller in the webinterface so i can see about twice as many albums on one screen (that is a matter of personal preference ofcourse) but i would like to be able to have that as a setting. Also that would mean you have more space for the text. -- For compilations in the webinterface i can see for example: Brit Hits 2008 (2CD) Fall out boy, Kaiser Chiefs, Ka... In the app i get: Brit Hits 2008 (2CD) Fall out boy This seems to be the same for any compilation, the "first" artist are only listed, even though there are space to the right to fill out which would look nicer since it's then easy to see it's a compilation (instead of having it say various). -- The trigger solution for play, add or play next is an ok solution but only ok. When you have your page loaded in the webinterface you don't need to toggle anything, you select the artwork or the plus sign.. very easy and straightforward. I would really like to see something similar. Best if possible would be press the artwork - play that album press hold add to playlist. If you still want to have play next perhaps swipte left or right. --Years, i very much miss browsing by year.. -- Sorting, i miss the sorting option for albums, artist. , e.g .Years, Artist, Album or Artist, Year, Album or year, album etc For now actually i still prefer the webinterface, a bit slower to load the list of items but easier to add to playlist, and i can also see more information and use trackstat. The now playing page is much much better in the app, very nice! Enhancement requests: -- #Trackstat! #Load artwork with pageload, or atleast load them in the background without having to scroll to populate #Smaller artwork size or as a setting = more albums per page #More space for compilation artists when you have the setting to list all artist, atleast as much that can fit #Adding to playlist = Press hold : new playlist = Press : double click or two finger press or ... #Browsing by year #Sorting of albums etc. #Caching between sessions, needed to be able to pick up, start app, add albums and close.. Bugs? -- #Only 75 items in new music #the artowork issue, possible a bug?
