Regarding years. Sorting the albumlist by years would be nice for browsing (new to old)... But what i use is to play a year, e.g. select 2008, get the list of albums alphabetically and then be able to play all albums or add from there.
With the solution to sort by year i would not be able to easily play a year. Perhaps it's just me who likes to shuffle a bunch of albums.. Similar usage to playing a genre, select the genre, press all albums.
