What does it remove? Just the background image... hm... I need 4-5 pages on that view, which will be impossible with flipping, that's why the sliding is there. I know it's not perfect but I'm looking for any better solutions giving me the 4-5 pages for quite a while now without getting suggestions. You're welcome to be the first :-)
