But that's almost a bug rather than a stylistic choice. To some people it might look like the application is stuck/hung. Software needs a a proper failure mode outside of just sitting there. :) I'll reply to the previous message, but in short, to answer one of the questions you had initially, yes, I do have ideas on how to accomplish some of what I suggested in terms of UI design.
