I wouldn’t go for a »workaround« that affects -correct- data
(i.e., your RG tag values). Instead, I’d try to influence the
party that »does it wrong« to correct it. And *maybe* try to live with
either a little clipping or the DB corrcection stuff for a short while.

The Good Thing: RG isn’t hard to understand and both problems
(avoid clipping and don’t apply RG twice) should be *really* easy
to fix, so it can’t be long until it’s fixed if they -hear-
us. Fortunately, most of it is software (and good design) anyway, so
things -can- quite easily be fixed.

Let’s go vote for the bugs. (And I also promise to get an account
now.)
