I wouldn’t go for a »workaround« that affects -correct- data (i.e., your RG tag values). Instead, I’d try to influence the party that »does it wrong« to correct it. And *maybe* try to live with either a little clipping or the DB corrcection stuff for a short while.
The Good Thing: RG isn’t hard to understand and both problems (avoid clipping and don’t apply RG twice) should be *really* easy to fix, so it can’t be long until it’s fixed if they -hear- us. Fortunately, most of it is software (and good design) anyway, so things -can- quite easily be fixed. Let’s go vote for the bugs.
