Buying a Squeezecenter device is really buying into the larger system
and, to some extent, the community around it.

I've been very happy with the progress that's been made since the
Logitech acquisition. virtually every complaint I've had since I bought
my original SB3 two years ago has either been addressed or is being
addressed in current development.

I've advocated Squeezecenter to everyone I've thought would benefit
from it, but I do think it is ultimately a niche product.

Whether the original Slim team is around to advocate for this platform
inside Logitech, in a time of dwindling resources, will definitely make
a difference going forward in my point of view.
