On the App Store you will now find an iPeng 1.0.5 release. 1.0.5 is a pure bugfix/maintenance release and has no new functionality. The main improvement is in handling of large databases. If you are experiencing no problems with iPeng this will probably not change a lot for you except the usability improvements mentioned below.
Fixes: Some of the "known issues" that could lead to iPeng crashing are now fixed: - iPeng is no longer crashing on communication errors when connecting to different network setups using the same IP range. - iPeng will no longer crash when a player doesn't have a name - iPeng will no longer crash when connecting to a server that didn't finish the last scan on 7.3+ Improvements: - iPeng will now handle large databases much better. iPeng 1.0.4 ran into trouble with a database size of ~5.000 albums or more, 1.0.5 is now tested against databases up to 14.400 albums, although that is clearly close to the limit. Also, you should now be able to use "Artists->All Albums" for large databases, too (which trapped from around 4.000 Albums). There's also an improvement in scroll speed for all views that contain artwork - these started to be unresponsive from ~4.500 Albums on, this is now fixed (what a little binary search can get you in terms of performance improvement :-) ) - The issue with the indexes bein hard to hit should now be fixed, iPeng should behave just like other iPhone apps now. - I tried to do further improvements to the volume slider. However, my possibilities are somehow limited now, since iPhoneOS from FW 2.2 on changed the default behavior of the slider control. The behavior is now similar to iPeng's which on the one hand means I will no longer _have to_ tweak it but on the other hand means I also have not a lot of _chance_ to tweak it if I want to. That's it :-) Oh, no, Apple now thinks the way the version numbering is done is more consistent then it was before.
