Last time I was in the UK there was this chain called Tandy (yes, that's 
how long ago it was).  The chain still exists in the US under a 
different name.  Long story short, if you can get their remote (or most 
any of the OEM's remotes (OEM's name is: "All For One")) you can 
reprogram them your self w/a bit of hard work through what essentially 
is an I2C port (pronounced: "eye squared see").  It is extremely 
flexible, cheap, complex and absolutely unsupported by the manufacture. 
  In other words: "the perfect hacking experience".
