I went ahead and bought both SlimPronto and ProntoSqueeze. Both developers have been very helpful and responsive so far. I'm not sure which one I prefer yet, both are very well designed, with clean and attractive graphics.
SlimPronto perhaps feels like a more complete package at this stage, but I think ProntoSqueeze was always designed to be light weight... Neither yet support much from the Music Services category, such as Last.fm browsing and playback, but both seem confident this will improved soon.
