Fair enough about controller like plugins, but the OP was talking about volume control etc which is not something that iPeng should have to worry about. Thats embedded in the server side plugins. The whole point of IR blaster is that it is using the headphone jack on the SB3 to send IR commands to other devices (like turn amps on/off or to adjust volumes).
