It is a text file which canm be edited with a normal text editor. It is
easy to access when SC is on a Linux/Windows   - I can't tell you how
to get at it on an NV+.  

It would probably be easier for you to do a bulk rename of the
extension of your asf files to wma and then browse to the folder
containing the files - this will bring the new WMA files into the
database without the need for a full scan as this way you will not have
the problem of updating the conf file after each SC upgrade.
