I've had a couple of occasions where the normal Add-in uninstall via
Settings > Add-ins has not worked correctly.  
I've used the Control Panel to remove the program, then tidied up the
registry by hand.

I'm not sure what the problem is with the SC installer (could be the
file name??)
Personally I've always uninstalled first, before installing a new
version of an Add-in - but that's painful when beta testing.
