Hi, The components are probably not comparable to a transporter (which I sadly don't own...)
I do know that I think it performs admirably. I have it connected via a long USB to my computer - mainly for watching dvd's etc via computer. I was able to lower the volume a considerable amount after upgrading from my previous built in soundcard and still hear (and understand) speech in movies... When I first got the unit I started working and listening to music in the early evening (e.g. the brandenburg concertos in flac). My girlfriend awoke me from my trance at 5 in the morning wondering why I hadn't come to bed.
