I think GRIP can do things automatically on insert - and then eject when finished. If not, then abcde (*a* *b*etter *c*omman*d* line *e*ncoder - geddit?) for command line only servers. However, I find that I often have to change what comes up automatically from CDDB. This is especially true for Classical music, where any sensible person would want the composer in the "Artist" bit, so it may be best to rip on your desktop machine anyway, just so you can check before it does it, otherwise it's a lot of arduous tag editing later.
