If not for organizing, why attach metadata? The current setup requires keeping two distinct types of organization in sync, which is using the file system as a secondary database, which is poor database design. One or the other is fine, both is an unnecessary, and as we see here, unhelpful redundancy. Anyhow, SELECT * FROM DB WHERE (ALBUM_TAG = 'Greatest Hits' AND ARTIST = 'Juice Newton') ... this isn't rocket science. If Ms. Newton released two Greatest Hits albums, add the year to the search. If she released 2 in the same year ... maybe you accidentally bought two of the same cd, or maybe you can call one of the Vol 1. -- drs ------------------------------------------------------------------------ drs's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3536 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=60755 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
