Don't limit yourself to auto-sensing amps, especially because many of the "T-class" amps, such as the Sonic Impact T amp, are very efficient and draw very little power even when they are on (less than the AudioSource does in standby mode).
A few months ago someone posted a link to a site where some company was selling a SBR that they had modified to include an amp. I can't find the thread now, but you might want to search for it.
