I believe what he means is, the wired port must be free. You have to connect to the wireless network in order to use it as a bridge, which is what he meant by connecting to the wireless network the normal way. You can also use the SBR as a wireless access point for the SBC - in that case, it will be wired to the network and the SBC will access the network through the SBR.
