You can should definitely wire the HTPC server that would probably fix the problem. You can not expect this to work, even with only SC traffic two wifi hops is not recommended practice htpc>rangemax>SB3 it doubles the needed bandwith for music.
Don't believe the hype about wifi it has not room for both the torrents and the music, the speed is not as high as one thinks in practice. So an ethernet wire for the HTPC server will solve a lot problems for you.
