You may know that many musicians use solid state amps on their road tours. Just as they leave their best guitars at home, they do the same with their amps. I'm talking about a lot of accomplished, lifelong artists who travel today with a small or non-existant entourage. With no guitar/amp tech along, lugging tube amps on the road is russian roulette. Not too long ago I asked one guy about it. He said "I go on the road to perform, not to screw around with my equipment. I've put a lot of time into finding the right amp and the right settings that I find acceptable.
