Hi MikeekiM, I am a gadget guy! :)
I had forgotten about the Boom. That's a great point. I would probably go with something like the maudio Studiophile AV 30s if I don't go the Squeeze / Boom route. My guess with whatever setup I decide on, I will probably not tinker with it too much. My experience with SageTV, which seems similar to the Slim products, is that it's a good product and can work really well. It might take some setup to get there, and you can of course configure the hot heck out of it if you want. Sage also has tons of plugins and things that can be customized, but they can be a pain to make work and can destabilize your setup. I've become somewhat gunshy about mucking with things too much. :) In any case, the feature set of the Squeeze solution seems pretty good, and if I decide to expand the number of zones, the max that I'd get to would be 6. Although a benefit to the Squeeze solution is that I could have a test installation on my laptop where I can try out various options and only roll them into my server if I like it and it doesn't blow things up. I have read some of the Sonos vs Squeeze threads on the AVS forums, but haven't visited either device specific forum until today. I'll definitely be doing some additional reading this weekend. Thanks for the comments. reddot -- reddot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ reddot's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30687 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63925 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
