Abstract:
Uh-oh. Updated Logitech Squeezebox
Thought people might be interested in a consumer focus group I
participated in yesterday, where the product unveiled at the end of the
session turned out to be a suite of new Logitech Squeezebox products,
that look like they might present renewed competition for Sonos.

Featured were:
- two different devices that have built-in speakers (including a
battery-operable portable player/radio for $199 and a
boombox/clock-radio for $299). PLEASE SONOS, give us a boombox!
- A very appealing device that looks like a touch-screen, stand-up
version of the Sonos controller, with jacks in the back to connect to
your powered speakers or stereo, and a headphone jack. It's as if the
Sonos controller was mashed up with the iPod touch controller and the
ZP90. This will be $299.
- A sleeker updated version of a Squeezebox Duet, with a remote, for
$399.

As you can see there's more on the way - unless the rest is decoys! ;-)
