My home network consists of a Zyxel broadband base station providing
Ethernet and Wireless LAN coverage. This all works fine together with my
SC server PC, Transporter, Receiver, and Controller...

EXCEPT: There is one room where I am totally unable to get a decent
Wireless signal. And this room is rather inaccessible (concrete floor)
as far as running Ethernet cables are concerned. But I *have* been able
to get an Ethernet feed into this room by using a pair of Zyxel Homeplug
PowerLine converters.

I plan to put a Receiver in this room; and I can connect it using the
Ethernet (via the HomePlug link). But the question is how can I use the
Controller with it? Obviously I need to add another Wireless base
station in this room...

I want the Controller(s) to be able to "roam" between the main Wireless
network, and this new Wireless base station. => So my questions are:

i) What kind of base station should I use (Will any one do? Does it
need any specific feature sets? etc.)

ii) What settings should this new Wireless base station have (Should it
have a separate or same SSID as the main Wireless base station? Separate
or same Wireless security settings? Separate or same Wireless channel?
etc.)

iii) What (if any) settings do I need to make on the Controller to get
it (force it) to roam?

iv) What (if any) settings do I need to make in my home network
(anything concerning routing, IP addresses, sub-nets, DHCP, etc.)

The reason why I ask the above questions, is that I have already been
doing some experiments with my existing Controller (s/w v7.4) and it
seems almost impossible to get it to roam between two base stations; the
only sure fire way to force it to change stations is to remove the
battery for a few minutes and let it do a restart.

{PS in my current tests I am using WPA2 security; I think this is a
protocol that negotiates security tokens that are valid for a certain
period of time, so I wonder if my roaming difficulties are due to the
Controller trying to re-use "old" security tokens that were negotiated
on the main base station, when it tries to connect to the other
station....}
