I should emphasise that I use iTunes on Macs. I can accept that it is a
whole different experience on a PC (I have used it at work but not in
any depth). My current library size might be modest by current standards
(9835 songs, 231.50 GB) but I cannot remember a single instability
issues over the last 3 years. For new downloads or rips I personally
find it easier to revise tags to my own requirements using iTunes.
Anyway, the point of this is to propose stable, preferred solutions.

Mac / OS X / iTunes / Apple TV or Airport Express is, in my particular
experience, stable and easy to use but it is not a preferred solution
because it is not Squeeze-product based. So what do you recommend
instead? What works as a complete setup?
