SB3 manages over wlan but the server must be wired to the router, this have nothing to do with the OS, same for Linux or win .
The Case is that there is no wifi cards that supports WOL , only the ethernet nic /card port does. And it is not only an OS and BIOS setting it is also a hardware question. Not all network cards support wol and some motherboards don't do that either. So you can be unlycky either way even if the OS supports it and computer is wired to the router.
