Go to the settings and check the 'keep alive' box. In the lower part of the window, maybe it's called something else - I don't recall right now. This will prevent your device from going to sleep. The behaviour is arguable but it's by design. If your device is not configured to restart wifi when it wakes up - SlimControl does not resume wifi while running.
