For ripping VortexBox uses cdparanoia. It has several methods to get a
bit perfect rip but it does not use AccurateRip.

How much does your power cost? At .10/kwh a standard PC like the one
your using uses about 120watts and costs about $105 a year to run. A
VortexBox appliance uses 24 watts and cost $20 a year to run and a Micro
applaince draws 6 watts a year and cost $5 a year to run.

So if you bought a VortexBox Micro Applaince for $400 your payback
would be about 4 years just in power savings! Plus you would get a much
quieter small box!
