I am tearing my hair out. My venerable SLIMP3 (fw 2.3) flatly refuses to mate with my SqueezeCenter (7.3.2). Squeezebox V3 and SoftSqueeze play fine. I replaced Kaspersky IS with COMODO IS yesterday, after Kaspersky was blocking BBC streams. Initially, those streams were playing just fine on my SLIMP3 (w COMODO active). Then the SLIMP3 became disconnected, and I have not been able to reconnect it since. Strange thing was that SqueezeCenter continued to "see" the SLIMP3 (although it had vanished from the network). It is only after I restarted SqueezeCenter that the phantom player disappeared. The SLIMP3 is now back on the network. All IPs are configured manually (*). I can ping the thing from the server, and the player ack's that. Given the chronology of events, COMODO must clearly be the prime suspect. However, disabling the firewall *does not* reconnect the SLIMP3 either! I understand that the SLIMP3 uses a different protocol to my SB V3. However, I am confused by conflicting information: there's a post on this forum that says that the SLIMP3 communicates via port 3483, but the Technical Information states that the SLIMP3 communicates via 1069. Now, COMODO actually confirms that SqueezeCenter is listening on 3483.
Any ideas please? Thanks. (*) For some reason that also baffles me, the SLIMP3 cannot locate my DHCP server?!?
