I don't have any squeezebox device but am considering purchase. I need to be able to play any windows OS sounds at all times---in addition to streaming mp3 files.
I have a windows home server which contains all music files. I'd like to stream the music files AND hear any system sounds at the same time. So, for example, if I get new email, my server will sound an alert. I need to hear that alert over all my squeezebox devices. And, should i start playing an mp3, I still need to ALSO hear the system sounds over the squeezebox. Is this possible? I noticed a waveInput plugin which seems it might do the job. But, I don't have the squeezebox software or hardware to test and confirm. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
