C++ perhaps. I don't know anything about that. Any good language is fine with me. I don't use my SB the way you do, so I don't have the problems you have, but by all means let's get rid of any problems that exist.

But "written with Windows in mind" not only would not suit me, but seems to me to be against the SlimDevices philosophy.

That is, one of the virtues of SlimDevices approach is that it is cross-platform. As a Mac user (and others are Linux/Unix users) I chose the Squeezebox precisely because it was not Windows only.

Possibly they could make more money designing for Windows only, but money is not the only criterion.
