Nice find. I haven't had that issue - my server is a dual core Mac. However, I have noticed a not quite dissimilar issue when I'm using a lot of bandwidth at once, but I really have to force it. Say, watching Hulu, backing up my laptop to the server, backing up the server to an external disk, and running a torrent all at the same time. Naturally something has to give.
