If what I also read is true clock jitter isn't so much of a problem
when transporting a digital signal from say a laptop to a transport (say
a SB3). Like example 1 attached below.

Is this because the TCP/IP protocol is better at transporter a digital
signal then the S/PDIF protocol is?

If so, why not use TCP/IP instead of S/PDIF like example 3 below?
