aubuti: Indeed, and I somewhat agree with you in that there, for all practical intents and purposes, currently are several market-segments for these things.
However at the end of the day I don't think they are that different. I'm a computer scientist, and I do have a server doing various things. But I must admit that I would happily bin it if I could get the job done by plug'n play devices. Though this is not going to happen tomorrow, there is no reason it can/will not become reality in the forseeable future. Of course, this excludes the segment of those that likes tinkering for the sake of tinkering. But there are plenty offerings for those already.
