My server setup is somewhat good (Linux, 2.2Ghz dual-core mobile cpu, 3GB RAM, however it is connected via wireless), but that's only half the story: good Javascript performance is also essential, and by all accounts the CPU in the iPad is pretty remarkable. I've got an 8 year old laptop that I sometimes use to access SBS, and it's eminently usable. It's a Pentium III-M with 512MB RAM, and I've got it loaded with Knoppix and Chrome.
