Can you transfer the music to your server in another way, for instance
on your network? That's the way I work. My ubuntu-pc with the music is
ethernet wired to the router, while I rip new CDs on a windows lap-top.
Afterwards I tag the new music, add cover, and transfer the new cd-rip
(contained in a folder) via the WLAN to the collection on the server.
To be able to do so, I've installed and used the SAMBA sharing program
on the Ubuntu-PC. Squeezeboxserver can read those files.
