"It" in this case refers to the Duet, so no they are not supporting

I am assuming you are referring to the facilitate "stream ripping"
clause? Could be solved through license by agreement and sending
scrambled audio (in such a way that spotify agrees too). Nothing
magical about it.

Nope. I don't believe it is necessary. I would however expect at least
some effort to be put

Hopefully not every time you add a channel to network broadcasting you
would throw out the TV?
I just bought this, it's only a few months old and you want me to throw
it away. Yeah, that would be good for the environment lol. Not that I am
an environment freak anyways...
