Speaking of sound cards and ASIO, I stumbled across the Behringer UCA-202 (about $30 with shipping at B&H). It's USB and purports to support ASIO, has RCA ins and outs, a switchable headphone out and a SPDIF out. Complaints in the buyer comments on a number of sites are 1) it's flimsy and 2)the DAC seems to stumble occasionally. I'm already running SPDIF out of my PC to a receiver, so I'm mostly looking at the ASIO/USB to SPDIF, which -should- be fine - and my issues are mostly around the ASIO4ALL driver being a bit balky at times. So... this might be a solution and -cheap-. I'll report back.
