The balky shutdown issues I'd been having were indeed from ASIO4All. It's only fragile compared to commercial "roadie" sound gear. I have yet to hear the DSP "stumble".
I've tested with the 32 bit WinXP ASIO driver (downloaded from behringer.com). Did a few standby/restart cycles. Works like a champ. Sound (using ABA testing) seems a bit better than the SPDIF out from my sound card. No real way for me to tell if the DSP in the 202's better than the one in my receiver as the receiver doesn't have audio direct pass through. Sounds good on headphones, though. I've ordered a second unit to throw into my laptop bag - just for headphone audio. Caveat: this was on WinXP only. There's a 64 bit windows driver, which I haven't tried. Behringer lists Mac support but I didn't see Mac-specific downloads (maybe Macs already have USB-ASIO?) No Linux support (but, again, if there's USB-ASIO drivers already...?). And finally, the Behringer ASIO driver "owns" audio on whatever USB port you have the 202 connected to when you install the driver.
