OK, so now we know Spotify is not loading the dsbridge version of dsound.dll, but XP's native one. Can you confirm that? Dbl-clk the dll and see what the path says, does it say "C:\WINDOWS\System32\DSOUND.dll" (I think there is where DSOUND.dll is, I'm not running DSBridge here now). Also, check that in the Spotify dir (C:\Program Files\Spotify) you have both dsound.dll and dsbridge.ini and lame_enc.dll (besides Spotify.exe and Uninstall.exe).
