Well the "lease" should be renewed every time the Transporter disconnects then reconnects. Bearing in mind he had recently disconnected, connected via cable, disconnected and then tried reconnecting again via Wi-fi, it should renew the IP address lease in those circumstances!
I don't know why Router manufacturers find it so difficult to produce a reliable DHCP implementation. Obviously the routing table accummulates bugs or errors over time that only a restart seems to be able to fix. It is almost as if it is an afterthought, or does not get the attention that maximising performance figures gets. I am thinking of putting my router on a timer that will cut and then restore the power at, say, 3:00am every day so that the DHCP server is restarted each day. -- TheLastMan Matt SB Duet (Controller + two receivers) Synology Diskstation 107+ (NAS) with FW 2.3-1157 Squeezebox Server 7.5.0 on Synology Package Manager Netgear DG834GT ADSL modem/router, 2 x Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 access points Naim 42/110 amp, B&W CM2 speakers in living room.
