I've been trying to recall....the data storage is still sound but the access mechanism is starting to show its age...
I do remember that for ages the "Sync with iTunes" menu item was disabled, and then "something" I did caused it to start working. Maybe reinstall MusicIP? In the dark days when it didn't work I think I used to just import my iTunes music folder manually using "Add Songs"...maybe try that?
