The task of building a new server (new refurb 2.53GHz Mac Mini yay! quite a step up from my current 1.25GHz G4) has finally provided enough motivation to figure this out again....
As far as I can tell, MusicIP expects to find the iTunes Library.xml file in the default location of ~/Music/iTunes. So, if your iTunes stuff is somewhere else, put an alias to this file in the default place. Then the "Sync with iTunes" menu is magically enabled!!
