I posted much of this in a thread I wrote in the Squeezebox Radio forum, but I thought I'd bring it to the rest of the community so more people could see it. And also add a bit more detail.
I started out with a mission. I wanted to put a modern stereo system into an art deco style tube radio case. I settled on the squeezebox radio as my modern system of choice, and over the last several months I've been working on this project. I finished tonight. What follows in the next few posts is a visual time line of how I did it. I'd appreciate any comments, and am happy to answer any questions. Sooo here we go. I started out with a Philco 38-39 tube radio case (made in 1938) that I bought on Ebay for $20. It wasn't in the greatest condition, so I stripped off its finish and re-finished it. I then added metal detailing with silver leaf. +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Filename: 4756197973_b24b1700c7_b.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=10235| +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ -- danicakk ------------------------------------------------------------------------ danicakk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38874 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=80168 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
