I think this is a great idea too. One reason why our living-room is still full of CDs is that I sometimes want to be able to get to the liner notes easily (though to be honest, I rarely do).
Being limited to just the front cover (and often a poor-quality low-res version of it) reminds me of the days when I used to buy cassettes. I'm often disappointed at the paucity of information and artwork that comes with audio downloads. On a few rare occasions, I have scanned-in non-cover artwork and/or liner notes, and kept those in the relevant album's folder. But I don't think I've ever used them! And I certainly haven't done anything about making them more accessible. Just too lazy. Sometimes I will look up info about an album on Wikipedia or allmusic.com whilst listening; but that doesn't always exist, or doesn't have the info I want (who's that guest trumpeter, for example). (Hmm, I guess being able to to launch web searches for an artist / album / whatever might be useful... oh hang on, that's already there in Firefox (albeit crude)!) -- Brian -- Brian Ritchie ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Brian Ritchie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2319 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=81716 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
