No, not unless the user expects to use it as an alarm 24/7. The Touch
is not designed to be an alarm clock, but as a high quality digital
audio player. The internal speaker is solely intended for the audio
feedback (beeps, blips, etc.) associated with menu navigation. It will
work as you intend only if it is connected to an amp with auto-sensing
inputs or self-powered speakers.

It may be possible to ssh into the Touch and changes some of the
software options to redirect the audio output to the Touch's internal
speakers, but I'm not sure about that.
