Hard to say. Hardcore-iPad-only programming on top of "iPeng for
iPhone" was maybe three months. But I did already do a lot of the
basics in the last iPeng version, which already supports different
screen and artwork sizes and the like.
I also did a "prototype" version earlier this year which also took
several weeks to develop but which I later scrapped. It was intended to
be part of a universal "lite" version for the "normal" iPeng but simply
looked too bad.

I think it's better.
Although I dropped "Play shuffled" from playlists and albums while
Remote still has it :). But you don't really need it in iPeng for iPad

One feature that will be new to Squeezebox Remotes will have to wait
until 1.1 but I don't say which one. Since it's new you're not going to
miss it and while Remote has it it's useless there.
