IRBlaster is a plugin that runs an IR emitter from the headphone jack of the Squeezebox Classic, Transporter or Boom. Have a look at the 3rd party plugins section. If you just need a way to change the volume you could just enable the plugin and enter _something_ for the volume change command. The plugin will then report to iPeng that it's accepting volume changes even though the actual volume is fixed to 100%.
