Do you see the iTunes fields in the server settings? If you do, then you don't need to enter the path to the iTunes files, SlimServer will find them automagically. If you can't see any iTunes check boxes, then there's something wrong with your installation. I had this problem with iTunes 5, but couldn't track it down until I upgraded both components.
