I have a Squeezebox which is a couple years old. Some time ago the
display began only showing the lower half of the letters/numbers. The
device still worked but since then has stopped working. I am unable to
connect to the Squeezeserver. I just downloaded the latest version. I
think the trouble has to do with the fact that the device will not
automatically assign an IP number. I attempted to assign one manually,
but I don't have all the information such as "Default Gateway IP
address" and DNS server address. When talking to support about how to
find those numbers they acted like they had no idea what I was talking
about. And the interface with the remote and the player does not give
much guidance. I made sure my DHCP broadcasting was enabled per one
support suggestion. And I moved the device closer to the modem/router
per one suggestion.

I am about to throw it out the window. Smashing it would give me
momentary satisfaction. I am not impressed with the three support
people I have spoken to today. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?
